Taphrina johansonii
Unique vessel with intense combinations of wood and retained bark.
I made this one to reflect the wildness of trees and nature. Turned, but not tamed.
Features like this are un-recreatable and unpredicable. When iImake a piece like this, I take the lead from the interesting and ‘imperfect’ nature of the wood. So I will make choices to keep the wild parts, and form a shape that highlights them.
